In this age of information gluttony, skepticism about the trustworthiness of communicated “facts” abounds. Is there anything true or reliable? Scrutiny applied to the bible is no different. Skeptics gloat that “the writers were pre-modern and unscientific,” “we don’t have access to the original manuscripts,” “it is riddled with internal contradictions and errors,” “it can’t be trusted as real history—but is a collection of perspectival reminiscences,” and so on. We will address some of these common critiques, showing how they fall short and why the Bible is reliable not only as history but as communication from a supernatural source.

We will explore how God is calling us to learn how to implement the New Testament style small group method of church growth in our church in our time. These home meetings enable close Christian fellowship, spiritual growth, evangelism, and discipleship to take place at a personal level due to the smaller group atmosphere. When God doesn’t answer our prayers, we often can become discouraged or resentful towards God and it can lead to a spiritual crisis. What we ask God for may not be the best for us, but how do we know? What we sometimes forget is that God’s ways are not our ways. His thoughts are much higher than ours and he has a greater plan for each of us that we are not able to comprehend. In general, God answers our prayers in three ways: “NO…” “SLOW…” and “GO!” What does each one look like and how can we get a glimpse of the plan God has for us individually?
